The communication of Isomorphology has been diverse, including a series of drawing workshops, where Isomorphology has functioned as a transferable drawing method and a tool for navigating both the museum and the field. I proposed an Isomorphology workshop as part of the Eden Projects ‘Strange Science’ week in May 2015. The workshop was held inside the tropical biome where I had prepared a selection of plants which related to the Isomorphology forms and symmetries. I used the plants to communicate the concept of Isomorphology throughout the workshop, inviting participants to draw the plant morphology.

Learning through drawing becomes a game of discovery (Participant, 2015).

I selected the following feedback about the Isomorphology workshop from a participant who offered reflections on the value of the workshop based on her background as an art teacher and as an artist:

Apart from the obvious benefit of approaching the natural world from the perspectives of an artist and a scientist, the activities included all the elements of a successful and meaningful art class: Structure in the form of clear guidelines for each stage of drawing.

The workshop was not only about sharing the Isomorphology practice but also about drawing, its epistemological value and it’s potential as a means of connecting with and observing the natural world.
